Pemberdayaan Komunitas Pesisir dalam Adaptasi Perubahan Iklim melalui Teknologi Smart-Sensor dan Edukasi Lingkungan

Perubahan iklim mengancam keberlanjutan komunitas pesisir yang berpotensi memicu kerentanan sosial-ekonomi yang parah (IPCC, 2022). Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi integrasi teknologi smart-sensor berbiaya rendah dan program edukasi lingkungan sebagai strategi inovatif untuk memberdayakan komunitas pesisir dalam mengantisipasi dan beradaptasi dengan dampak perubahan iklim. Penelitian partisipatoris ini dilakukan (12 bulan) di dua desa pesisir di Jawa Timur, Indonesia, dengan metode mixed-methods, yaitu penerapan jaringan sensor untuk memantau kualitas air, salinitas, dan kenaikan permukaan air; pelatihan capacitation building bagi pemuda setempat mengoperasikan dan memelihara teknologi sensor; serta modul edukasi lingkungan berbasis komunitas. Hasilnya, pendekatan integratif ini secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman komunitas tentang risiko iklim lokal dan mekanisme adaptasinya. Partisipasi aktif komunitas dalam pemantauan berbasis sensor meningkatkan rasa kepemilikan dan kewaspadaan dini terhadap ancaman lingkungan, yang sejalan dengan prinsip citizen science untuk membangun ketahanan (Craglia et al., 2021). Namun, tantangan utama yang dihadapi meliputi keberlanjutan teknis (perawatan perangkat) dan keterbatasan anggaran untuk replikasi, yang juga dicatat dalam studi serupa di konteks negara berkembang (Ford et al., 2020). Kombinasi teknologi smart-sensor yang terjangkau dan edukasi yang kontekstual terbukti efektif sebagai katalis untuk pemberdayaan komunitas pesisir. Model ini meningkatkan kapasitas adaptif secara teknis dan memperkuat kohesi sosial dan agensi lokal dalam menghadapi perubahan iklim.
